Palmer Square Real Estate is currently seeking candidates for a Managing Director, Real Estate Business Development to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing organization that is overseeing nationally recognized real estate development projects.
This role will be based in Kansas City or Remote.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a key role leading all real estate fundraising activities for Palmer Square Real Estate. With an initial focus on equity capital raising for ground-up development projects, this role will also be focused on raising capital for stabilized acquisitions and larger, institutional real estate transactions. Capital raising will be across vehicles – both for equity funds and direct investments.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- In collaboration with firm leadership and the portfolio management team, lead the equity fundraising lifecycle for development projects and stabilized acquisitions
- Manage all external investor and advisor relationships, while collaborating with all internal stakeholders (e.g., investment team, marketing, legal/compliance, finance/operations, etc.)
- Inform investment team debt financing processes, including a strong understanding of financing business and legal terms
- In collaboration with the portfolio management team, prepare and inform investor marketing materials
- Lead Palmer Square Real Estate brand eminence activities, such as marketing newsletters, roadshows, webinars, and conferences
- Ensure adherence to firm compliance guidelines and proactively manage risk

- Willingness to play multiple roles as business needs arise across a fast-growing, institutional-caliber real estate investment manager
- Strong relationship management skills, being able to flex communication style to diverse geographies, team members and investor types
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and creative problem-solving ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation and delivery of client presentations
- Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
- Ability to motivate others to think, persevere, and execute ideas that are out of their comfort zone
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce CRM navigation
- Significant travel required, 25-50% and excellent presentation and communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Post graduate degree in finance, business management or another relevant discipline
- 10+ years of experience in fundraising for real estate private funds and direct investments
- Demonstrated understanding of the LP landscape and preferences, styles and requirements across key regions and investor types
- Existing wide network of LP relationships and proven ability to build and grow
- Strong history of real estate fund product knowledge and ability to communicate details of real estate investment approach
- Experience in real estate asset class is required
- Institutional fund marketing sales and support experience strongly preferred
