Christopher D. Long

President and Co-Portfolio Manager – Palmer Square Capital Management

Chris is responsible for co-managing Palmer Square’s alternative investment platform which includes a multi-strategy, open-end mutual fund of funds, an emerging manager partnership fund, and multi-strategy partnership funds. Chris also directs the firm’s due diligence effort and sits on the firm’s Investment Committee.

Chris’ previous work experience includes serving as a Managing Director and Investment Committee Member at Guilford Capital which was sold to Mariner Wealth Advisors and serving as a Managing Director and Investment Committee Member at Prairie Capital where he was one of the team members responsible for investment manager due diligence, and the firm’s proprietary alternative investment products including numerous hedge fund of funds and private equity fund of funds.

In addition, prior to re-locating to Kansas City, Chris spent a considerable portion of his career responsible for making investments at various New York City-based firms including Sandell Asset Management, a multi-billion dollar hedge fund, where he invested in both equity and debt securities. Prior to Sandell, he worked at Morgan Stanley in the Credit Derivatives and Distressed Securities Group focused on the firm’s proprietary investments. Before Morgan Stanley, he worked at TH Lee Putnam Ventures, a $1.1 billion private equity fund sponsored by Thomas H Lee Partners and Putnam Investments. In that role, he was instrumental in investing over $200 million of capital and served on the Board of Directors of Avero, Inc. and was a Board Observer for Parago, Inc. He started his career at JPMorgan & Co. in Leveraged Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions (FIG Group) advising corporations and private equity firms on investment banking and capital markets. He holds the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.

He received an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School and an AB degree in Economics cum laude from Princeton University.

Chris’ community involvement includes serving as a Trustee for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, Investment Committee member of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Investment Committee member for the Foundation of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Co-Class Agent for Princeton University, Major Gifts Committee– Harvard Business School, and Social Chair for the Princeton Club of Greater Kansas City. Chris was also the former Treasurer for the City of Mission Hills, KS and a former member of the Children’s Mercy Hospitals Leadership Circle of Care Committee, Kansas University’s Finance Department Advisory Board, and Treasurer for the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Kansas City.

Angie K. Long, CFA

Chief Investment Officer

Angie, a member of the Investment Committee, has key responsibilities for all investment-related activities with a particular focus on portfolio construction and risk management.

Prior to joining Palmer Square, Angie worked for JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York for 13 years. Angie excelled in a variety of management and trading roles including Head of High Yield Trading, Head of Credit Derivatives Trading, and Deputy Head of Credit Trading. Since 1998, Angie has been responsible for JPMorgan trading businesses ranging from $100 million to $500 million in profit. Angie has been a trader of many products including high yield bonds, high yield credit derivatives, distressed debt, capital structure arbitrage, and structured credit.

Most recently, Angie ran a proprietary trading book focused on long/short credit (cash and CDS) and capital structure arbitrage. In addition, she worked with the Global Head of Credit Trading and other senior executives within the credit area to help oversee risk management for the High Yield and High Grade credit trading books.

Named a Managing Director at age 29, Angie is considered a pioneer in the Credit Derivatives industry and is credited with creating the HYDI (High Yield Debt Index), the first liquid credit trading index and predecessor to all of today’s indices (the Dow Jones CDX). JPMorgan now trades billions per day of this product. Angie also built JPMorgan’s High Yield Credit Derivatives business and Credit Options business.

She received an AB degree in Economics from Princeton University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. During her years at Princeton, Angie was a member of two National Championship Rugby Teams and was selected as an All-American in 1997.

Angie currently serves on the Women in Leadership Committee for Princeton University and the Women’s Heart Health Advisory Committee of University of Kansas Medical Center.

Julie R. Connor

Director of Operations

Julie is responsible for overseeing the operations for all of the funds managed by Palmer Square. She brings over 25 years of operations experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Palmer Square Julie worked at State Street Bank. She was there for over 15 years. While at State Street she served as an operations team manager, responsible for the daily portfolio accounting and custody services, then transitioned into client relationship management and assisting with business development. Prior to State Street she was at DST Systems, Inc. Julie began her career in public accounting at Deloitte where she concentrated in the financial securities industry with New York based clients in the mutual fund, brokerage, and banking industries.

Adam M. Jones

Senior Vice President

Adam is primarily responsible for investment manager research analysis, due diligence and directing the overall client service effort for Palmer Square Capital Management.  Adam plays a key role in all aspects of the overall alternative investment effort for Palmer Square.  

His other work experience includes serving as a Senior Associate at Guilford Capital Management LLC (“Guilford”), an SEC-registered investment advisor that focused on wealth management and asset allocation for high net worth families and institutions.  His responsibilities at Guilford included investment analysis, manager due diligence, and directing the overall client service effort.  Guilford was sold in December 2009 to Mariner Wealth Advisors, LLC.

Prior to joining Guilford, Adam worked in the Investment Banking Group at ThinkEquity LLC, a boutique investment bank focused exclusively on the growth sectors of the economy. While at ThinkEquity, Adam focused on public and private equity offerings and M&A advisory in the education, gaming, retail, digital marketing and online commerce industries. In his role, he was responsible for performing extensive industry and valuation analysis unique to every transaction.  He holds the Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, and is a CFA Level II Candidate. 

Adam received an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and a BS in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas.

Brian M. Scharf

Vice President

Brian is responsible for investment manager research analysis, due diligence and playing a key role in the overall alternative investment effort for Palmer Square Funds.  Brian has significant experience not only making investments, but also directly managing the operations and infrastructure for two hedge funds.  

Prior to joining the Firm, Brian was a Vice President at Scout Investment Advisors where he was an analyst on the Scout Small Cap Fund.  He assisted in portfolio management for the $500 million fund while researching and selecting individual stocks for the portfolio.

Prior to joining Scout Investment Advisors, Brian spent a considerable portion of his career finding investments, trading, and assisting in fund management for New York City-based long-short equity hedge fund Jacobs Asset Management, LLC (JAM).  JAM had $300 million assets under management and invested primarily in the financial services sector.  Before JAM, he worked at Big Sky Capital, LLC which was a global macro hedge fund headquartered in Santa Monica, CA.  While at Big Sky, Brian selected portfolio investments across geographical regions and asset classes while trading the majority of the portfolio and assisting in fund management. 

He received an MBA degree from the Columbia Business School and a BA degree in Psychology from Yale University.

Kyra L. Floyd

Vice President

Kyra is responsible for operations, marketing and client service for the funds managed at Palmer Square Capital Management.

Prior to joining Palmer Square, Kyra served as Director of Operations for J. Stephan & Company, Inc. (JSC), a leading marketing and consulting services firm offering incubation, capital raising assistance and market positioning to investment advisory firms, hedge funds and private equity firms.  Kyra was also responsible for the operations and compliance of Consector Partners L.P., a long/short hedge fund focused on the financial services industry.  Consector Advisors LLC is the General Partner and Investment Manager of Consector Partners L. P. and was co-founded by JSC.

Kyra was a Financial Advisor at PaineWebber Inc. and a Registered Sales Associate at EVEREN Securities, Inc. prior to JSC.  She earned the Series 7, 63 & 65 licenses and was responsible for portfolio performance measurement and the monitoring of twenty investment advisory firms for a $2 billion foundation.

She is a graduate of Texas Christian University, taking a bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance.

Brooke N. Myers

Client Service & Marketing Analyst

Brooke assists in the overall business operations and supporting the client services efforts for Palmer Square. She plays a key role in ensuring the Firm’s business processes and internal procedures are maintained to the highest standards.

Brooke came to the Firm from the Bank of Prairie Village, a full-service commercial and retail community bank in Prairie Village, Kansas where she was a private banker. She performed account and loan administration functions in addition to coordination of marketing and advertising activities of the bank.

Prior to Bank of Prairie Village, Brooke worked for Wells Fargo Financial as a Credit Manager in their consumer lending division.  At Wells Fargo, Brooke directed clients through the underwriting and credit approval process, and finalized loan terms along with the closing of the loans.

Brooke received a BA in Business Marketing with a Concentration in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas. She also studied for a summer at the Consortium Institute of Management and Business Analysis, in Paderno Del Grappa, Italy. During her time at KU, Brooke was a cheerleader and served as a marketing intern for the Kansas Athletic Department.
